Riders were patching together Strava, Google Maps, and forum threads. None of it was built for motorcycles - no winding-road optimization, no ride-friendly waypoints, no fuel stops calibrated for motorcycle range.
I led product design for the Ride App and the LiveWire connected vehicle experience. Two use cases, one design system, two development teams across two timezones.
The LiveWire raised the stakes. H-D's first electric motorcycle required a mobile app to function - owners needed it to locate their bike, check battery and tire pressure, and retrieve the PIN to start it. Without the app, the bike experience was incomplete.
Two distinct user modes - planning and riding - required a navigation model that could shift without friction. Route planning happened at home or in a parking lot. Connected vehicle controls needed to work at a glance, in a jacket, with gloves on.
A single component library spanning route planning, ride tracking, challenge mechanics, and connected vehicle controls. Every spec and state documented by hand - this project predates AI-assisted workflows entirely. The craft had to carry itself.
